Jeff Bagel, CFRE recently had his first book released by CASE Publishing. Annual Fundraising Plans Made Simple: A Road Map for Community Colleges and Small Development Shops. It was CASE’s top-selling book in its category in 2017.
Jeff has extensive experience in leading organizations to maximize their potential through fundraising, volunteer and board development, the creation of strategic plans and annual fundraising plans, alumni relations, institutional marketing, and community outreach programs and partnerships.
Prior to joining eAdvancement, Jeff most recently served as Vice President of Foundation and Alumni Relations at Erie Community College (ECC) in Buffalo, NY. Under his leadership, the Foundation increased its assets more than 200 percent while also tripling its endowment.
Jeff is a recurring featured speaker at national CASE and Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) conferences. He has been a panelist and moderator at numerous SUNY conferences and summits and has also developed and hosted webinars for CASE, SUNY and AcademicWorks Blackbaud. In 2017, Jeff was a contributing author for the annual giving module in the AFP’s “Fundamentals of Fundraising Course” Participants Manual, which is distributed worldwide to students enrolled in the program.
Jeff served in chief fundraising roles at a variety of institutions in the arts and cultural and healthcare fields. During his tenure at these organizations, he completed several successful capitals, major gifts and annual giving campaigns. He received 1995’s National Excellence in Annual Giving Award from the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP).
Jeff was honored as the AFP’s Western New York Fundraising Executive of the Year in 2012. He is involved in numerous community organizations and activities. Currently, he serves as Immediate Past President of the AFP’s Western New York Chapter, and as Chairman of MusicalFare Theatre in Buffalo, NY. Additionally, he has been a former adjunct faculty member in the Fundamentals of Fund Raising program at Canisius College. Jeff is a graduate of the Executive Leadership Institute at the Center of Philanthropy at Indiana University and was one of four people nationally selected to serve as a facilitator at the Executive Leadership Institute in 2000.
