Eustace Theodore, a founding principal of eAdvancement, spent most of his academic career at Yale University in a variety of teaching and administrative positions. After retiring from Yale in 1997, Dr. Theodore became the seventh President of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), the international association for professionals in the disciplines of alumni relations, communications, and development at colleges, universities, and independent schools in the United States and 48 other countries. Prior to assuming the presidency, he was an active leader for CASE serving for more than a decade on the Board of Trustees, the CASE Europe Board and as Chair of the CASE Commission on Alumni Relations.
While at Yale, Eustace was the Dean of Yale’s Calhoun College (1972-1981) and taught in the departments of American Studies and Sociology. He went on to become the Executive Director of the Association of Yale Alumni (1981-1997) during which time he worked with five Yale presidents. Since receiving his Ph.D. he worked from time to time as a management consultant to business on problems of organizational change and corporate strategy. He earned a B.A. in economics from Yale University in 1963 and a Ph.D. in organizational behavior and social psychology from Cornell University in 1967.
Within the consortium, he focuses his work on providing guidance on strategic issues in all three advancement disciplines, executive coaching of presidents and advancement vice-presidents, and program audits in the areas of alumni relations and fundraising.
